32 is enough for anything currently

but back in the day there were some construction servers which were full/close to being full a lot of the time, and they would have benefited from having >32 players

Even though CS2D has some network optimizations (send positions/movements of players who are far away less frequently for example)

not sure how necessary this is in 2014.
