Ok this is my shit story (prepare,it'll be long).
Ok.
So my credit card went to it's end and they reinstalled my computer and putted new video card and before they done that i had Nod32 antivirus system.
Since i am a internet surfer, when they gave me back the computer i saw that i didnt have any anti virus software installed. So i downed a trial version of AAV(Avast AntiVirus Software),but i wasnt very confident with it,thought i didnt know how to use it either.
And i said "Hey,why not get the good old Nod32 again?"
And so i did,i got the Demo and when i tried to install Avast found 8 viruses on that shitty installer.
So i deleted them (that was Yesterday). And today,i get back from school and what do i get? Very annoying popups from the taskbar, changed the desktop wallpaper to some shitty that reads " Your computer is infected with spyware".So i clicked on of the popups in the taskbar, that reads "click here to make a scan and remove the dangerous files".So,clicked it...
And it redirected me to a site for a "Top rated anti virus system SpyMaxx",but it also wanted the full version , in order to remove the treats. And while surfing on the net i found that this SpyMaxx is a virus itself, pretending to be a antivirus software and make me give my money for a crap nothing.I deleted it immediatly....
I don't know what to believe now,im full of crap popups from my taskbar and i stick with a shit desktop wallpaper that can't change, also,Avast didnt found any more shit from yesterday but i just dont know that to do now. I think my computer is fucked up again, thought they reinstalled it a mount and half ago

to get rid of spyware try the antispyware program SpyCatcher Express (freeware). i use it for a long time an I'm very happy about it!
http://www.tenebril.com/consumer/spyware/spycatcher-express.php
Kaspersky is good, i tried it too. but sometimes it froze my computer for minutes, because it had to check every change, or during booting. it is also quite difficult to handle, so be prepared.
and remember, never install two diffrent antivirus programs, that can cause serious problems. i have one antivirus and three antispyware programs installed, working well.

Avira Antivir is best because its free and you get daily updates.
Its excellent for an normal PC user who dont needs all the crap of an expensive Antivir suite.

Well here you get it:
http://www.free-av.de/en/index.html

I myself had tryn out some demos of Antivirus Programs and one of those programs I couldnt even remove I deininstalled it but it was in the process still active even after restart.
I had to istall windows xp from new.
Then I got Avira Antivir and its much better than the other expensive crappy Antivirus Programs.

I also suggested avira Anti-Vir, as you can see here:
TheKilledDeath has written

and you CAN deactivate the processes without reinstalling your PC by starting the windows control panel, going into managment, pc managment and then services. There you can deactivate all processes, so that the don't start. Be careful when you change options there!

1. AVG Free
2. Ad-Aware
3. HijackThis
4. SUPERAntiSpyware
5. A decent firewall (I have none. Onoz!)
6. Firefox or Opera, not Internet Explorer

The above is the list of what I would put on any computer that I wanted to stay free of viruses. It's also what I have, sans the firewall.

(I use Firefox, btw. Opera is boringly plain.)

I have nod32, it's the best one out there for sure. You probably been infested from before, but I don't know. I could be wrong, and never download demos from the web. Especially like anti-viruses. As they could contain nasty stuff. Get certified anti-viruses with everything spyware safe and you'll be ok.

My computer has survived many trojans because of NOD32.
Used Kaspersky before, also good. But too big. Nod32 is perfect and small for now.
