Hi i like CC and i wish more people would play it what are your ideas to make it more played?

∗ my two idea's is to make that you can enter a server at any time (not when it is awaiting player's) and enter Spec.
∗ This is more fantasying to make it real-time not turn-based and i think it would be back in life with a bunch of players √

errr... title/content fail? this is just another suggestion thread. we don't need that.

both of these things have been suggested so god damn often already that I'm sick of hearing it. please do me a big favor stop repeating this stuff! PLEASE!

both things are absolutely NOT going to happen because the game is not designed for it. it wouldn't work. technically not possible. I explained that so fucking often already.

to answer your question: tell your friends about CC. that's it.

oh and just to explain (again, I did this many times already) WHY it's technically impossible:

× joining while playing? huge fail!
the terrain consists of a CRAPLOAD of pixels. all would have to be submitted to each new player that joins while playing. this means that there is an ass full of data which needs to be transferred over the internet.
result: whenever a new player joins you (every player on the server!) would have to wait for many seconds, maybe even minutes! moreover: how should this work?!? does the new player spawn at random positions or what? how lame and unfair is that?! nonsense!

× realtime weapons? another game!
the whole system is designed to work in a round based game. the whole engine is frame-synched. EVERYTHING (and I mean everything) would need to be rewritten from scratch. Including the whole game and all (weapon) scripts. This would be a completely new and different game. Not Carnage Contest.

I have an idea about spectators: not view the game, but minimap! So, it's smaller than actual map and have only one colour. I think that's not shitload of data.

still pretty problematic and it would allow to display only the minimap with player positions / health values. weapons etc. could not be displayed at all because weaponscripts require all the map data to work.

and it would still be a pretty ugly thing to implement that. it's not worth all that work.

but maybe I can tweak the "auto-join game when ready" screen a bit so it shows the health bars of all teams and the current round or something like that.
